Shiffon Co. on Forbes: The Pinky Ring That Was A Symbol Of Women’s Solidarity And Pay Parity At The Oscars

“We’re students and we made a pinky ring to represent a pinky promise to pay it forward to support women. 50% of profits go to funding female founded businesses. Would you want to wear the ring to the Oscar’s in support?”

That’s the sound of Shiffon Co. founder Shilpa Yarlagadda intercepting Hollywood’s female elite like Rena Ronson, Lulu Wang, and Sandy Powell at the Women In Film (WIF) Academy Awards event in Los Angeles last week honoring female Oscar nominees.

It was here where she unveiled Shiffon Co.’s partnership with ReFrame, the pay parity organization founded by WIF and the Sundance Institute, to create the #PinkyPromiseForParity alongside the ReFrame ambassadors and the producers of the 92nd Academy Awards, Stephanie Allain and Lynette Howell Taylor.
